About Guy Mitchell | Founder and Broker of Community Partners Inc.
He has been in the real estate business for 30 years! He began his real estate career in Northern Manitoba by starting a property management business, but soon after wanted to get into to sales side. He quickly achieved a real estate broker’s license, hired agents and grew his business large enough to sell it to a major company. Around that time he moved his family to Winnipeg and furthered his education by completing his CCIM designation (the top commercial real estate designation). He worked for two commercial brokerages before he started his own company again. Since then, he has done deals in all the provinces west of Quebec. He has experience in residential, commercial, retail, office, land assembly, industrial warehousing, seniors housing, construction and development.
Some of his favourite times in real estate were his three years spent as a partner of a company developing office buildings in Moscow, Russia! He went there in 1989 and was part of a company that developed 8 offices buildings, started a construction and development company, a property management company and a real estate company. While he was there he started REIX (Real Estate Information Exchange), an association created to help companies navigate through the laws of Real Estate in Russia as they were literally changing daily during the early 1990’s. The Association boasted the largest accounting, real estate and law firms in Moscow at the time. He also started the first Moscow Real Estate Association which promoted cooperation between all of the foreign companies working in Moscow again at the time.
Guy is a strong believer in education! Over the years he has lost count of how many courses and seminars he has taken over but would venture a guess between 50 and 100. He has also taught the commercial section of the licensing course in Manitoba and has lectured at the University of Moscow.
